Peter King

Peter King has been flying ever since he was 10 years old, starting in the right seat of his family’s Cessna T206 and advancing to become a Commercial Pilot, CFII/MEI and Master Instructor.

Peter had a successful career in high technology, starting with six years as a Developer Trainer and Engineering Manager at Steve Jobs’ NeXT Computer. He then went on to work at a number of joint ventures and startups as an engineering manager and software architect. In the summer of 2000, Peter rode the dot-com wave out of Silicon Valley and became a flight instructor specializing in IFR, GPS, Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) and glass cockpits.

Peter is a Cirrus Standardized Instructor (CSIP), a Columbia Factory Instructor (CAMFTI), and is qualified to teach in the entire Cessna piston line as well as most piston Beechcraft. He has published articles in IFR Magazine, Pilot Getaways, and Pilot Journal. Peter has created, co-created and delivered a number of weekend long safety seminars on advanced IFR and glass cockpit avionics, most notably the Cessna Advanced Aircraft Recurrent Training Program (CAART). In addition, he has also served as a consultant to the Human Systems Integration Division at the NASA Ames Research Center.
