David Cooke

David Cooke was introduced to flying in 1985 through a Royal Air Force flying scholarship at Leicester, England. After a summer season as a glider tug pilot he became a flying instructor. David joined a UK airline in 1988 at the age of 20, flying the Hawker 748 and BAE ATP turboprop aircraft along the Northern England and Scotland routes. In 1993, he transferred to the UK airline's Boeing 747 Classic fleet, then onto the 747-400 in 1998. He gained command of the 747-400 in 2002 at the ripe old age of 34, one of the youngest pilots to ever do so.

David has owned several aerobatic aircraft including Pitts S1 and S2B, Christen Eagles and an Extra 300L and competes in aerobatic competitions at the advanced level. He has an Aerobatic Instructors Rating and is also a T6 Harvard instructor.
