Adam Ruscitti has had a lifelong involvement in aviation. Growing up in an aviation family, Adam started his flying career flying with his father before he was tall enough to reach the rudder pedals. Adam soloed on his sixteenth birthday in a 1947 Luscombe tail dragger and completed his private license on his seventeenth birthday. By the time he was eighteen, Adam had earned his CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, and IGI. Adam was actively instructing throughout college both independently and with the Southern Illinois University flight program. Prior to the FAA rule change, Adam completed the ATP check ride at age 21 and received a letter stating his ATP will become active at age 23.
After graduation from Southern Illinois University, Adam flew Part 135 corporate charter in the Learjet 35 and Beechcraft King Air. Adam began an airline career flying co-pilot and Captain on the Beech 1900 out of Milwaukee, and eventually flying Captain on the CRJ-200 for Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation based out of Washington Reagan National Airport. He was then able to fulfill a lifelong career goal of working for United Airlines when he was hired as a copilot on the Boeing 737-300/500 based out of Chicago O’Hare.
Currently, Adam is an instructor and mentor pilot on the Eclipse 500, Citation Mustang, Citation CJ, and the Embraer Phenom 100. Adam holds an ATP with 7 type-ratings, and is an FAA Gold Seal Instructor. He is a FAA FAAST Team Representative and a SAFE appointed Mentor. In July of 2011, Adam received the Master CFI Designation.
